Mulberry

Melbourne

2024

In October 2024, Liz Sunshine hosted an In Conversation event at Mulberry Melbourne to celebrate the brand becoming a B-Corp. The evening was an opportunity to share stories, from Liz’s own journey with My Relationship With Clothes to reflections on how we relate to what we own. Guests explored a collection of pre-loved Mulberry bags, highlighting the beauty of pieces that carry history and care.

We invited people to anonymously consider the question: “Is a second-hand bag worn in or worn out?”

This question gently explores the value and longevity of pre-owned items, especially clothing and accessories. It challenges how we see second-hand goods – are they refreshed and full of life (“worn in”), or discarded and no longer of value (“worn out”)? It encourages us to reflect on our mindset around consumption and disposal, and to consider a more sustainable, mindful approach to fashion. It’s a reminder that second-hand pieces can carry new life and meaning beyond their original ownership.

The Our Relationship With Clothes (O.R.W.C.) project is a space for everyone. Whether you’re already on the path to understand your relationship with fashion, wanting to repair it or just beginning to explore how clothes make you feel. This community is here to meet you where you are, normalising asking questions, having conversations and listening from a place of love and respect.

We believe in progress, not perfection.
