2025
In September 2025, the Reflection Cube joined Muji’s Woven by Nature campaign at Julie Restaurant in Abbotsford, Melbourne. Set alongside a conversation between Liz Sunshine and the Muji team, the evening brought together fashion media and industry leaders to explore the sustainability and timelessness of natural fibres such as hemp and linen.
At the event, the Cube posed two open questions: “Which is the most sustainable fibre?” and “Which fabric do you reach for when you want something to last?” These questions invited reflection on how different textiles hold value in our lives — not just in how they feel or look, but in how they endure. They ask us to consider the choices we make daily when we get dressed and how those choices shape the future of fashion.
Both hemp and linen carry long histories as durable, breathable fibres with comparatively low environmental impact. They remind us that sustainability is not only about new innovations, but also about returning to materials that have always been with us — fibres that stand the test of time in wear, care, and cultural meaning.
By engaging with these questions, guests were encouraged to think about the durability and sustainability of the fibres they wear, and to see clothing not only as style, but as a reflection of care, longevity, and responsibility.
Creating change, one question at a time.
